This is a new 9” BFD Vixen in a vivid Black & White theme using Silver Lip Mother of Pearl Shell and Abalone Flakes and Genuine Specularite.
This is a unique, handmade lure created for high contrast, a proven technique to attract predatory fish.
The custom head has shiny iridescent Silver Lip Mother of Pearl on both sides, and in Jana’s trademark fluid design on the top of the head. The individual flakes of abalone are delicately added to create more pattern and intrigue on top of the head, and to work with the UV shimmer of the skirt back.
The silver hologram tape on the bottom provides a little attention-getter for any predator looking UP at its belly. Of course, this lure also sports our Real-Life Taxidermy-Style fish eyes that are about as close to the real thing as possible.
As if that all were not enough, the black head is coated with genuine Specularite. This silver-metallic strain of Hematite has a Specular or “mirror-like” appearance that we love for the subtle sparkle and flash, and it works well with this entire combo. It takes a lot of work to hand sift the raw crushed hematite, which is why you won’t find anyone else doing it! We think it’s worth the effort.
This skirt combination is classic “spot” combo but we made it better! The outer compliments the head with a spotted back that has a UV treatment over the top for a baitfish shimmer. Over a bright white inner skirt that glows like crazy, this combo produces maximum contrast. See the glow photos and you will note the texture and contrast that shows even in low light conditions.
