This was a special project to create something unique and similar to the Hawai'ian red shrimp, the 'opae'ula. I hand sorted and sifted genuine Carnelian and Sunstone to create a shrimp-like mix with some contrast, and did my own little tricks to make the head glow :)
The skirt combo also glows with a natural buff color and a glow orange, and I added in strands of 2 different colors of flashabou for some contrast and interest and to continue the opae appearance. The flashabou is threaded between the two skirt layers, to help prevent tangling in your rigging (as flashabou normally loves to do.)
Do pelagic predators eat these shrimp? Heck if I know. But this is a nice natural looking bait that has texture, contrast, glow, great color, and Jana mojo. It's also a limited edition, so grab one while you can!
