This is an extra special 7” BFD Siren with a whole new look.
Piles of beautiful iridescent flakes of mother of pearl AND abalone create contrast similar to the salt & pepper style that so many fishermen (and pelagic fish) love. We like flakes of real shell, because the different angles allow the shell to catch light and flash at different angles as the lure moves, even more than simple slabs do.
As if that were not enough, there is glow behind all that shell. You can really see the contrast of the shell flecks in the glow photos!
This thing is a killer when big predators are cruising the edges gobbling up Goggle Eye and Squid, and it's perfect for early morning and low light conditions!
Though this lure design is based one of our BFD Sirens (what many of you remember as the old Tubby) this one is NOT a standard item in our inventory. This is a Jana Special, and she only makes a few at a time. Starting with the proven Siren design, she painstakingly added all the little shell flakes, concocted a glow mix in the adhesive, and added her trademark real-life taxidermy-style fish eyes.
The skirt combo is a unique spotted outer that continues the flecks of the head, and has UV treatment over the spots. We used this over a brand new custom BFD inner that glows like crazy and really shows up the contrast of the spots.
Belly weighted, with oval skirt saddles, these 7″ plungers are perfectly designed and balanced for stability and action. BFD’s unique oval saddles help with the anti-spin design, but they also create our unique fish-like profile. Baitfish are not round! Our lures look, and swim, like actual fish. Yes, oval saddles are just as easy to skirt as any other lure.
Not only do BFD’s plungers have a larger surface area on the face than most, the insert faces are finished: this means a Siren looks good from all angles AND it creates better action in the water.
